Our dear Pastor Jim Morris was called home to be with his Lord in January 2017 after  nearly16 years of faithful  ministry in our chapel. He is sadly missed and we are earnestly seeking the Lord for a replacement who will maintain the high standard of preaching and pastoral care that Pastor Jim exercised. In the meantime the fellowship continues to uphold the Christian witness in the village and have been blessed and encouraged by the preaching of the word by some very faithful and gifted visiting preachers.
Jim’s wife Janet and partner in the ministry is still living in the manse flat and continues to be a valued member of our congregation.

Meet our Elder and his wife

Assisting Pastor Jim in leadership, Ivan Stevens and his wife, Helen, have provided faithful encouragement and consistent support.. Both come from atheist backgrounds but, independently of each other came to experience the love and mercy of God through Jesus. Ivan’s practical abilities have been much appreciated over the years, but, along with his wife, he has been a wise and helpful counselor to many. In 2012 The Church formally appointed Ivan as a Church Elder to assist Pastor Jim in leadership.

Pastor Ray & Joyce Healey

Ray Healey, along with his wife Joyce, gave oversight to the fellowship for twenty-one years prior to Pastor Jim’s arrival in 2001. They remain a vital part of our church fellowship with regular contributions to the monthly Chapel Magazine and with Joyce still providing the music as church organist.

Meet our Deacons

The word ‘deacon’ simply means ‘servant’ and currently we have three serving deacons, who, along with Ivan Stevens, provide the infrastructure on which the ministry is built. Together they look after the administration, finance, secretarial and fabric work. We currently have three deacons :
Gilbert Griffin. Gilbert was born and bred in Bere Regis and runs the family building company.

Ben Bennington was born in South Yorkshire but moved into the Poole area with his parents in 1954. Ben was married to Margaret for 47 years before she sadly lost a battle against cancer and died in 2013. Before retirement Ben was a truck and bus mechanic as well as having been a long distance lorry driver. Although Ben has been through many traumas, in addition to losing his wife, he also suffered the loss of his younger sister to cancer three years ago. Through it all Ben says that his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has been his strength. He has often testified to God’s goodness both to himself and his late wife, Margaret, over a period of forty years. Ben concludes, “Jesus is my Rock and my salvation; I believe in Him absolutely, and I absolutely believe in His words from the Bible.”

Youth Work – Suzie and Graham Gee

Suzie and Graham Gee have a love for their Lord that is infectious and have been with us since 2002. They live in arguably one of the smallest cottages in the village and yet have brought up four children there! Their hospitality knows no bounds and often it’s wall to wall people in their downstairs rooms!

They are founder members of the successful Truth4Youth Conferences – now in its 13th year. (see more of this on the Truth4Youth link) In  the Chapel they really are our youth leaders – with Graham giving oversight to the Monday night STS Teens and young adult group and Suzie as an integral part of the Friday night Son Seekers team.  In addition to this they find time to look  after our DVD resources – specializing in biblical creation and
discernment subjects.
