What we believe.
Here is a shortened version of our Statement of Faith. The full version can be obtained from our Pastor on request.
We Believe:
  1. That there is only one living, self-existent and true God who exists eternally in three distinct but equal persons: the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. He is the sovereign God in creation, providence, redemption and revelation. He is just, holy, gracious, and merciful, deserving of all praise and glory forever.
  2. The Holy Scriptures, the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testament does not merely contain but is, as originally given, the divinely inspired and infallible Word of God. It is the final authority in all matters of the Christian faith, conduct and life.
  3. God created man perfect, but after being tempted by the Devil, man by his own free choice became a sinner. Mans whole nature is now perverted by sin and his fellowship with God is broken.
  4. In the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, His real and sinless life on earth, that He is truly God and truly man. We believe in the authority of His teaching the infallibility of His utterances, His miracles, His work of atonement for sinners by His sufferings, shed blood and death on a cross. His bodily resurrection from the dead and His ascension into heaven. His present priestly intercession and mediation for the redeemed and His visible, personal return in glory when all human history is brought to a climax.
  5. God in His grace forgives and reconciles to Himself all who turn to him in true repentance and who trust in Christ’s atoning death on the cross. God imputes to them the righteousness of Christ Himself and adopts them as His children granting them eternal life. It is by God’s grace and faith alone, not by any merit or works of righteousness done by them.
  6. In the ministry of the Holy Spirit who leads the sinner to repentance and trust in Christ. He brings to birth in him a new life and by His continuing work develops in this new life the fruits of love and holiness. He builds up the church and empowers its members for worship, service and mission by His gifts distributed as He wills.
  7. That each local church is a fellowship of believers gathered by Christ and has no need of, or should, acknowledge any other authority than His.
